  Benchmarking Competitiveness

In 2006, the International Federation for Animal Health commissioned Business Decisions Limited to conduct a benchmarking survey on the competitiveness of the regulatory environment for animal health products in five regions, Canada, the United States, Japan, Australia and the European Union. Members of the Canadian Animal Health Institute were surveyed to provide quantitative and qualitative data on Canadian regulatory review programs for animal pharmaceuticals and biologicals. The Canadian results were benchmarked against those of Australia and the United States due to a similar market size in the former, and a similar regulatory environment in the latter. CAHI has shared the results with Canadian regulators and industry partners, as well as recommendations resulting from the release of the report. The Benchmarking Survey Report and CAHI recommendations can be found below.
