  Message From The Chair

Welcome to the website of the Canadian Animal Health Institute (CAHI). Established in 1968, the CAHI is celebrating its 40th year as the voice of the Canadian animal health industry. The CAHI is the trade association representing the manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceuticals, biologicals, feed additives and pesticides registered for use on Canadian animals. Collectively, the members of the CAHI represent over 95% of the sales of animal health product in the Canadian market. We have 19 full members and 38 associate members representing allied industries, and a staff of 3.

CAHI is a forum for the animal health industry to collectively develop and implement the actions we need to enhance the competitiveness of our industry overall. Through our activities, we have positively influenced public policy around our our product by advocating the principles of sound science. We collect data to facilitate better decision-making by our members and we work hand in hand with our veterinary and producer clients, pet owners and our regulators.

CAHI is a unique organization that has demonstrated leadership time and again by addressing a variety of issues, many unique to Canada. One of the greatest benefits of membership has been its ability to adapt and address emerging issues, while continuing to pursue issues that have challenged our industry for years.

During my 28-year career in the Canadian animal health industry I've seen change and growth, but most importantly, excellent animal health and availability of animal medications. Please visit the many pages of this website to see why I'm so proud to serve Canadians as a part of this vital industry.

Rick Culbert,
