The Canadian Animal Health Institute (CAHI) is a team of pharmaceutical, biological, feed additive and animal pesticide company representatives working together to promote animal health in Canada. The CAHI works on behalf of each of these companies on broad industry issues. A committee structure allows members with a specific interest in a topic to work alongside their peers with similar expertise.
Not everyone can participate in every available opportunity. CAHI is able to do this on their behalf. Some examples where CAHI has had representatives participating on committees on behalf of the industry include the Stakeholder Committee for the Veterinary Drugs Directorate, Health Canada, the Advisory Committee on Animal Uses of Antimicrobials and Impact on Resistance and Human Health and the Canadian Council on Animal Care.
