National Sales Manager (Pet)

Job Description

The National Sales Manager (Pet) is responsible for the sales strategy, leadership and performance of a large, industry-leading Pet sales force.  The National Sales Manager (Pet) will direct the sales planning and execution, field force optimization, implementation of marketing tactics where sales input is required, customer contracts, human resource and compliance policy management as it pertains to the Pet field force.  Managing national key accounts will be a significant part of this role.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The National Sales Manager (Pet) has responsibility for:

  • Development and implementation of the national sales strategy to exceed sales targets, while supporting the national marketing strategy.
  • Development of quantitative and qualitative objective setting at the field force level.
  • Leading, directing and coaching a team of District Sales Managers.
  • Developing key accounts, strategic accounts and other significant customers nationally, and ensuring national alignment on these.
  • Recruitment and selection of top sales talent.
  • Engagement in cross-functional activities to promote national alignment with diverse team members.
  • Ensuring sales force compliance obligations are met.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Agriculture or equivalent.
  • Bilingual (English/French)
  • Minimum 10 years industry sales experience with superior industry and product knowledge.
  • Minimum 5 years Sales Management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years Product/Brand Management experience.
  • Ability to travel nationally (>50%).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in field force optimization, deployment and CRM systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer programs.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of process and program development.
  • Agility and business acumen.
