Job Description

The Technical Services Veterinarian (TSV) will provide service and knowledge to veterinarians, academics, producers and swine production companies, in support of their animal health, production and animal welfare goals within an assigned region (Quebec) and across Canada as needed. In addition, the TSV will provide disease, product, scientific and industry information to company employees to support the achievement of the companies’ scientific, financial and market segment objectives.  

Responsibilities:

  • Support veterinary and producer needs by providing technical information aligned with veterinarian/producer production, disease management and animal welfare goals.
  • Produce technical information materials in line with the company’s sales and marketing strategy for the Livestock Business Unit (Swine segment), for the Sales Team, Veterinary customers and end users.
  • Build and maintain relationships with opinion leaders and veterinarians on a regular basis to identify disease trending and customer needs. 
  • Provide supporting input on customer needs to team members through agreed communication channels. Proactive contribution and prioritization during species tactics/strategy meetings to build strategic plans. Recommend technical approaches that are aligned with business and brand strategy to provide solutions. 
  • Respond in a timely manner to all inquiries on species-specific products and investigate and support the resolution of adverse reactions and associated customer complaints. 
  • Support product launches, territory manager training and veterinary customer and end-user meetings as needed. 
  • Adhere to pharmacovigilance standard operating procedures and processes. Perform all BI business in accordance with all regulations and BI compliance guidelines and procedures. 

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent degree, with valid Canadian veterinary license required.
  • Advanced training is considered an asset - Minimum of 2 years of clinical or academic practice preferred. 
  • Valid driver’s license. 
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, highly variable based on seasonality, conference schedules and customer needs. 
  • Understanding of English and French language skills required for roles in Quebec 
  • The Technical Services Veterinarian may be required to support business needs in parts of Canada outside of assigned region.

Employees will be required to take the COVID test and complete a form for BI, upload a picture of the test result and submit the form automatically. This form must be completed each time an employee takes the test before an in-person interaction with a customer, colleague, supplier etc.

    The successful candidate for this Job Posting will be required to complete the mandatory Employee Confirmation Statement on the first day of employment with the Company.
