Job Description


Aventix Animal Health requires an experienced Inside Sales Representative (ISR) to join our team. The ISR is a product line sales expert and relationship builder with stellar communications skills, including active listening.  The ISR builds and maintains territory plans and demonstrates flexibility to quickly adjust to changing market conditions and meet or exceed annual goals. While working closely with the TMs to educate veterinarians and their clinic teams, the ISR builds trusting relationships with new and existing customers.

  • Maintain and demonstrate proficient product knowledge on Aventix products
  • Monitor sales activities:  calls completed, number of clinics reached, number of orders, etc.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate customer call notes in CRM
  • Maintain a well-developed sales process that supports getting to the decision maker, exploring needs and closing the sale
  • Develop and execute pre-call plans for each outbound call, suggesting related and new items, and explaining technical features including a well-defined commitment objective
  • Maintain initiative by shifting priorities as needed, sharing best practices and having a sense of urgency
  • Build deep relationships through interpersonal skills with clinic staff members by listening to needs of the customer
  • Assesses competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends and identifying sales opportunities
  • Generate revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders, understanding and interpreting technical requirements, providing technical information, and developing accounts
  • Where appropriate, the ISR will attend relevant training and sales meetings


  • Previous sales experience preferably in animal health and/or Animal Health Technician (preferred)
  • Experience of CRM software is desirable
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Oral and written proficiency in English, French an asset
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills are essential
  • Mandatory to have solid interpersonal skills and be adaptable
  • Must be a team player with flexibility to get any task completed
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
  • Familiarity with data analysis, management and manipulation techniques
