Three national and regional animal health associations are joining forces to announce the first annual Global Cutest Pets Showdown,  bringing together pets and animal lovers from around the world in a contest to celebrate the bond between people and their animals.

Representing the true north, strong and adorable, are our 2025 Cutest Pets on Parliament Hill winners — now stepping up to the international stage as Team Canada! From purring policy advisors to tail-wagging diplomats, these pets are ready to charm the globe and prove that when it comes to cuteness, Canadians are paws-itively unbeatable.

He posed for pics, wore pins with pride, Knocked on doors, trotted far and wide. When votes were in, the headlines read: “The dog has won!”—though not as head. Now curled up near the MP’s seat, His job is done, his nap complete. That Bernese dog? He stole the show— A furry friend we all now know

Göçebe
I'm Göçebe—Turkish for "Nomad"—brought from Turkey by my HuMom who works at the Senate. One day, she came home with a tiny wooden man named Mr. Peters (the Usher of the Black Rod, no less!). I was banned from playing with him—apparently, he's royal-level rare! For one special photo, I posed beside him in my maple leaf tartan bowtie. My new Canadian name? "Protocol." Pretty fitting, eh?

Hiccup
Entering this contest means a lot to my daughter Alice, because, as she tells me, her pet hamster is "her whole world." She desperately wanted a cat, but her brother is allergic to them. Thankfully Hiccup the hamster has won her affection.
